Frequently Asked Questions about PDO Max Threads

1. What are PDO Max Threads?
PDO Max Threads are absorbable surgical sutures made of polydioxanone (PDO), a material safely used in medical procedures for decades. When inserted beneath the skin, these threads create an immediate lifting effect and stimulate your body’s natural production of collagen and elastin. This improves skin texture, tightness, and firmness over time. PDO Max Threads offer a non-surgical alternative to a facelift, with results that look natural and refresh your appearance without cutting or significant downtime.

2. How long do the results last?
The lifting and tightening effects of PDO Max Threads can last 12 to 18 months, depending on the type of threads used, your skin condition, and your body’s individual collagen response. The threads themselves dissolve within 4–6 months, but the collagen produced around them continues to support the skin long after. Maintenance treatments may be recommended yearly to keep your skin looking firm and youthful.

3. Is the procedure painful?
Most clients are pleasantly surprised by how comfortable the procedure is. A topical numbing cream and local anesthetic are applied beforehand to ensure minimal discomfort. During the procedure, you may feel light pressure or a pulling sensation, but sharp pain is rare. The treatment typically takes 30–60 minutes depending on the area treated, and most clients are able to drive themselves home afterward.

4. What areas can PDO Threads treat?
PDO Max Threads are extremely versatile. They can be used to lift and tighten areas of the face including the cheeks, jawline, jowls, eyebrows, nasolabial folds (smile lines), marionette lines, and neck. In the body, threads can improve skin laxity on the abdomen, arms, thighs, and knees. Whether you're looking to enhance facial contours or firm loose skin, this treatment can be customized to meet your aesthetic goals.

5. What is the downtime and aftercare like?
Downtime is minimal. You may experience mild swelling, bruising, or tenderness in the treated area for a few days. These effects are normal and resolve quickly. It’s important to avoid strenuous exercise, saunas, facial massages, and excessive facial movements (like chewing gum) for at least 7 days post-treatment. Sleep on your back with your head elevated for a few nights to reduce pressure on the treated areas. Our team will provide detailed aftercare instructions and support to ensure optimal results.
