Davina Soernssen DNP, FNP-BC, DCNP
Dr. Davina Soernssen is a board-certified Nurse Practitioner in both Family Medicine and Dermatology (DCNP), with advanced certification in Functional Medicine through The Institute for Functional Medicine (IFMCP). With over three decades of clinical experience, Dr. Soernssen blends the science of medicine with the art of healing—treating not just symptoms, but the root cause of chronic conditions.
Her integrative approach focuses on cellular regeneration, gut health, hormone balance, and mitochondrial optimization. Using tools such as advanced genetic testing, detoxification protocols, and evidence-based lifestyle interventions, Dr. Soernssen empowers her patients to reverse disease, restore vitality, and optimize longevity.
As the founder of The Med Spa at Clinical Edge, she has created a space where traditional dermatologic care meets advanced regenerative therapies. Whether guiding a patient through functional lab interpretation or designing personalized protocols involving peptides, IV nutrient therapy, or skin rejuvenation, Dr. Soernssen is deeply committed to helping each individual look and feel their best—from the inside out.
Prior to launching the Med Spa at Clinical Edge, while Director of the Center of Excellence in Interprofessional Education, Practice, and Innovation at Rutgers University, she earned full accreditation from the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH) in the areas of Core and Teaching/Education in 2019.
While practicing in the area of dermatology, aesthetics and wellness at the Med Spa, Dr. Soernssen remains active in the development and instruction of continuing education courses at the Center for Education, Research and Innovation, School of Nursing-Rutgers University in Newark.
Stephen Nurkiewicz M.D.
Dr. Nurkiewicz graduated in 1986 from Jefferson Medical College, receiving the Hobart Hare MD Award for excellence in Internal Medicine. After completing his Family practice Residency at Abington Memorial Hospital he started his solo practice in Hammonton, NJ. There he developed one of the first Occupational Medicine programs in the region, chaired the Department of Family Practice/Pediatrics for Kessler Memorial Hospital, and served as school physician for several local school districts.
Dr. Nurkiewicz has affiliated with the University of Pennsylvania and Thomas Jefferson University as a clinical preceptor for the Advanced Practice Nursing Program, Atlanticare Regional Hospital for Occupational Medicine and Family Practice, and Virtua Hospital. He is a Senior Aviation Medical Examiner for the FAA as well as a certified Medical Review Officer.
Leadership positions held by Dr. Nurkiewicz include Board Chair as well as President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer of the New Jersey Academy of Family Physicians in Trenton, NJ, and Government Affairs Committee Chairperson. He was featured on Healthline cable television, and participates in Speakers Bureau for companies such as the American Cancer Society, Pfizer, Boering-Ingelheim, Sanofi-Aventis, and Norvartis. He moderated an Expert Panel that published a Family Practice enduring CME publication on COPD, and helped develop a national COPD and Spirometry multimedia program.
Trish Tuohey, RN
Trish Tuohey joined The Med Spa at Clinical Edge in 2022, bringing a decade of diverse nursing experience. Trish holds a Bachelor of Science in Bible and Discipleship Counseling from Cairn University, and her nursing career has spanned emergency care, nursing education, clinical triage, primary care, and aesthetics and wellness.
At the Med Spa, Trish is not only dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care but is also pursuing her journey to become a Nurse Practitioner with a specialization in functional medicine. Her goal is to combine her unique educational background with her nursing expertise to enhance the quality of life and longevity for each client, addressing all dimensions of well-being.
When at the spa, you’ll often find Trish administering Ozone and Nutrient-Rich IV therapies or performing Med-Spa treatments such as microneedling.
Outside of work, Trish enjoys spending time with her family, exploring new destinations, and diving into research on various topics. She’s passionate about books, seashells, jeeps, sunshine, and anything that floats on the water.
Jennifer Chatwin, ESTI
Jen is a licensed esthetician passionate about providing skincare that supports overall skin health. Starting as a freelance makeup artist in 2014, she quickly realized that the basis of a beautiful aesthetic is a strong educational foundation, and began pursuing her esthetics license, quickly developing a love for product and ingredient knowledge. As a former military spouse, Jen has practiced in a variety of settings in New Jersey, Oregon and Washington since obtaining her license, and is thrilled to return to her home state with a broad range of experience and knowledge to share with clients! When not practicing esthetics, Jen enjoys spending time with family, reading, lifting weights, and participating in continuing education opportunities.
